Twelve new Iarnród Éireann carriages will arrive at Dublin Port from Korea today.

The rolling stock is part of a €400 million investment, and services to Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Limerick, Kerry, Waterford, Rosslare, Carlow, Portlaoise and Athlone to Dublin will benefit.

"The new fleet of 183 carriages will . . . complete the process of transforming Iarnród Éireann's fleet from the oldest in the EU to the newest," said Iarnród Éireann spokesman Barry Kenny.
