Olivier Dacourt is adamant he will not be leaving Leeds - thanks to the backing of manager David O'Leary.

Dacourt is currently embroiled in a transfer saga, with Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale having received a Stg£16million verbal offer for the midfielder from Lazio.

Ridsdale met with the owner of the Italian giants, Sergio Cragnotti, in Rome on Tuesday, and now the Leeds chief is awaiting written confirmation of the bid from Italy.

Ridsdale will then discuss the offer with the rest of the United board at a forthcoming meeting, believed to be tomorrow, during which it is understood it will be accepted.

O'Leary and Dacourt, along with his agent Bruno Satin, will then be informed, however the France international has no intention of leaving Elland Road for the Eternal City.

A defiant Dacourt said: "I do what I want to do and nobody will tell me to go somewhere I don't want to go."
