It has been confirmed that two members of the Hunt family have temporarily stepped down from the board of the Hunt Museum in Limerick.
Mr John and Trudy Hunt stepped aside pending the completion of an inquiry into allegations that part of the museum's collection may have been looted by Nazis.
The massive collection was donated to the State by their late parents.
A retired judge has been appointed to lead the inquiry and the final report will be referred to the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr O'Donoghue.

The allegations about the origin of part of the collection were made by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre. It claims that the late founders of the collection had business dealings with art dealers linked to Nazis.
