MINISTER FOR Finance Brian Lenihan was not in the Dáil yesterday to respond to the continuing debate on public service pay cuts as he was undergoing routine treatment in the Mater hospital.
A spokesman for his department declined to comment on the Minister's condition, but it is understood he was taken to hospital yesterday morning. He had been due to go into the hospital in the near future for an elective treatment.
In the Minister's absence, the Dáil debate was handled by the Minister of State at his department, Martin Mansergh.
