Dobrosin - Three days of heavy fighting between Albanian rebels and Serbian troops and police in the Presevo valley region of southern Serbia has left up to five Serbs dead and ten wounded, NATO officials and Albanian rebels said yesterday, writes Christian Jennings.
Kosova Albanian rebels fighting against Serb forces in the mountainous and wooded terrain that runs along Serbia's southern boundary with Kosovo claimed that attacks by Serb forces on rebel positions on Monday led to extensive fighting, in villages and hand-to-hand in trenches, that lasted three days and involved use of heavy mortars, anti-aircraft cannons and automatic weapons.
