DENVER - The judge in the Oklahoma City bombing trial denied a request from news organisations yesterday that he stop holding closed conferences with lawyers to decide which jurors to dismiss.
So far 20 prospective jurors have been questioned by the judge, prosecutors and lawyers for Mr Timothy McVeigh, on their attitudes toward the death penalty and on how much exposure they have had to pretrial publicity about the bombing on April 19th, 1995, in which 168 people were killed.
