LIFELINES: The psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis is the theme of the first of three free public talks in the Trinity Building, St James's Hospital, Dublin on Tuesday, October 21st at 7pm.

Managing cancer-related fatigue and managing the psychological impact of cancer on children and other family members are the themes of subsequent talks at 7pm on Tuesday, October 28th and Tuesday, November 4th. Advanced booking is essential (tel: 01-4103457).

Information and support meetings

Information meetings on haemochromatosis, the genetic condition in which excessive storage of iron in the body can lead to organ damage, will be held around the State over the next two months. The meetings will be held in Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar on Thursday at 7.45pm; in South Tipperary General Hospital, Clonmel on Thursday, November 6th at 7.45pm; in the Fels Point Hotel, Tralee, Co Kerry on Monday, November 24th at 7.45pm; and finally in the Mater Hospital, Eccles St, Dublin on Thursday, December 4th.
