To play for either Glasgow Celtic or Boston Celtic.

If you could grant three wishes for the health service, what would they be?

In the long term, to make the finances available to provide a fully resourced quality health service for all, regardless of age and location. Make the finances available to implement a fully resourced national diabetes strategy here and now and, on a personal note, to provide free medication for people with asthma.

What is your greatest fear?

Besides Celtic losing to Glasgow Rangers, being unable to protect my family.

Have you ever been a patient and were you a good one?

I've never been a patient, touch wood.

When or where are you happiest?

At home with my family.

How do you cope with stress?

I coach a girls basketball team in Tolka Rovers and they quickly bring me down to earth at the end of a week.

What is the trait you most admire in yourself?

Having a practical outlook.

Being too diplomatic.

The current state of Glasgow Rangers FC.
