FOOD FOR THOUGHT:Slow Food for Babies is an information seminar on choosing fresh and healthy foods for babies and toddlers. Organised by the Limerick branch of the Slow Food movement, the emphasis will be on fresh, seasonal and, where possible, local food.

VOICE OF EXPERIENCE:Ageing with Confidence is the theme of a wellbeing programme aimed at older people in various counties around Ireland.

Originally developed in Dublin with input from Age and Opportunity, the course (eight sessions of two and a half hours each) challenges myths and stereotypes of ageing and provides information on physical, psychological and social aspects of growing older.

ATTACHMENT THEORY CONFERENCE:The Lucena Foundation and the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) is holding a day conference on attachment theory next month.

Entitled Attachment theory in a clinical setting, it will be held on Friday, February 22nd, at the Park Inn, Smithfield Village, Dublin 7.

Speakers will include Prof Gottfried Spangler, chairman of the Institute of Psychology, Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany and Prof Jonathan Green, professor of child and adolescent psychiatry, University of Manchester.

Also addressing the conference is Prof Thomas O'Connor, associate professor of psychiatry and psychology director at the University of Rochester, and Dr Gerard Byrne, consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Lucena Clinic in Dublin.
