Learn to relax when under pressure

Beyond Stress – key skills for managing pressure is the title of two forthcoming stress management courses, run by the Stress Management Institute of Ireland. The courses will teach participants relaxation techniques to reduce stress. The courses run over four evenings, 6.30pm-8.30pm, starting on Tuesday, April 21st and Thursday, April 23rd. Naturopath Jan de Vries will give a public talk on coping with stress tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Ardilaun Hotel, Taylor’s Hill, Galway city. Lecture on cell biology in Cork

A public lecture on cell biology and cell signalling is on Thursday at 1pm in the Aula Maxima at University College Cork (UCC). In her talk, Prof Rosemary O’Connor, Department of Biochemistry at UCC, will explain how some of the same key molecules that control cell survival and death are also involved in the growth of cancer cells and the onset of neurodegenerative conditions. Admission is free.

Smart and tasty cookery courses

Holistic therapist and chef Jim Dempsey has a series of day-long cookery courses which begin in the Temple Bar food market, Dublin and end with a shared meal in a city centre apartment.
