* Boosting your self-esteem is the theme of a free public talk tomorrow at 7pm in the Gresham Metropole Hotel, MacCurtain St, Cork. The talk will be given by Eoin Stephens, the president of PCI college in Dublin, which offers courses in counselling and psychotherapy. See pcicollege.ie

* Transplantis the title of an arts project which tells the stories of patients waiting for a new heart or lungs and those having surgery at Harefield Hospital in Middlesex, England. The artists involved in the project – photographer Tim Wainwright and sound artist John Wynne – will give a public talk next Tuesday at 6pm in Waterford Regional Hospital. Admission €5. * Habitat for Humanity Ireland is inviting women to join its first Women’s Build in Romania this autumn. The team will participate in HFH’s local homebuilding efforts between October 2nd and 10th, working with local volunteers and families to help to build homes.
