* Mapping the Brainis an exhibition of pictorial stories created by people with an acquired brain injury at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

Through workshops with artist Marie-Claire Cassidy, participants used images as an alternative to language. Their finished work is on show in the Mill Theatre, Dundrum, from Thursday to June 30th. See Milltheatre.ie/ exhibition/mapping-brain

* The director of the National Cochlear Implant Programme, Laura Viani, will give a free public talk, Journey Out of Silence, on Thursday at 7.30pm in the Royal College of Surgeons, St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2. The event is organised by the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland. See rami.ie.

* The Alexander Technique Centre in Galway is open to the public from next Tuesday to Friday (June 7th-10th). * The Centre for Disability Law and Policy at NUI Galway will hold its third international summer school with the Harvard Law School Project on Disability from June 6th-11th.
