Seminar: A seminar on medical research and clinical trials will be held in Dublin's Conrad Hotel on Wednesday, September 28th, 2-6pm.
Speakers will address topics such as the legal issues, dealing with the risk and covering the risks of clinical trials. Health Minister Mary Harney will also address the seminar.
The event is being organised by Hayes Solicitors in conjunction with the State Claims Agency, the Department of Health and Children and AON Healthcare.
Hayes managing partner, Mr Andrew O'Rorke, said there had been a large number of legislative change in the medical trials area recently which, "coupled with industry difficulties, have highlighted the need for meaningful discussion and debate with regard to how medical research and clinical trials can be conducted". Mr O'Rorke said the changes had far-reaching implications for everyone involved in conducting trials, their insurers and legal representatives.
