What you do in the minutes and even hours before your brain switches to sleep mode can have an effect on how comfortably and well you catch those Zs.
You might find that you sleep better if you avoid caffeinated drinks in the latter part of the day (this obviously includes coffee, but also some carbonated drinks).
Artificial light, too, can play havoc with your body’s internal signals about the time of day, so try to avoid backlit screens or harsh lighting in the evening.
