PARENTS of dust mite sensitive asthmatics are well aware that their efforts to eliminate the microscopic mites from mattresses and bedding, upholstery, carpets and stuffed toys may fail. This may be because one area is being overlooked the hair on children's heads.
When doctors hoovered clean the scalps of children with a tendency to asthma, they found, on average, 2,000 mites per head, the Lancet reported.
