It's a rock gig to promote the eighth Heineken Rollercoaster Tour 2001 which starts next Thursday in DCU, Dublin, and then travels to 11 venues around the country. On stage is Wilt. Relish has already played but fans of the rock group, Bell X1, will have to wait to hear them when the Heineken Rollercoaster Tour 2001 gets underway later this year. The group's lead singer, Paul Noonan, misses their gig at the Temple Bar Music Centre, because of a freak plane explosion. Instead of being in Dublin, he is spending the night in Bangkok, according to the band's guitar and keyboard player, Brian Crosby.

If you are passing through Dublin Airport today, you may spot rock guru Dave Fanning returning from Stockholm with a black eye or two. He may be wearing shades following his visit to interview the notorious US rapper Eminem yesterday. The intrepid music journalist had planned to ask the rapper about his up-coming charges for wife beating and pistol shaking. "He'll probably hit me," says the fearless Fanning as he chats to friends in the Temple Bar Music Centre.
