A shot was fired at a house in the Bradley Park area of Derry shortly after 11pm last night.
The shot was fired through the front living room window of the house, and there were further attempts to break into the property through the back door.
Three men are thought to have been involved in the attack.
A man, a woman and a two-year-old girl are understood to have been in an upstairs room in the house at the time.

Although no one was hurt in the shooting, a PSNI spokewoman said the couple was "very shaken" by the incident.
