Heavy rain has eased the going at the Curragh ahead of the Budweiser Irish Derby meeting, which starts on Friday evening.
Racecourse manager Paul Hensey said: "We had 19.2 millimetres of rain overnight and I changed the ground this morning to good on the straight course, good to firm still on the round course. But the last six furlongs of it this morning were good.
"We've had some rain since 10 o'clock this morning which may move it a notch. Possibly the round course will be good all over by tonight, and the straight course may even go on the slow side of good.
"Obviously we are not racing until Friday, so what we have today may not be what we have at the weekend. "Once the rain goes today I think we'll get the odd scattered shower, but not much, with the weather generally set fair.
