Greencore has raised euro 58 million from the sale of five food companies as part of a disposal programme following its acquisition of Hazlewood Foods in January.

The five companies sold were Hazlewood Convenience Foods Tilburg, a Dutch frozen meat snack business; three fish processing companies and Wafel Janssen, a Dutch waffle manufacturer.

Greencore has so far raised euro 98 million from asset disposals following its acquisition of Hazlewood.

Commenting on the disposals, Greencore chief executive, Mr David Dilger, said "These transactions improve the focus of the group and represent significant progress in our disposal programme.
