Food group Greencore boosted profits and revenue for the year ended September 28th, 2007, despite a difficult second half.
Prue-tax profits increased 32 per cent to €75.1 million, while operating profit for the group rose 22 per cent to €91 million.
Total revenue from operations for the year climbed to more than €1.26 billion, an increase from the previous year's €1.17 billion. Adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations rose 50 per cent to 29.8 cent.
Convenience foods saw its turnover growth fall 1 per cent to finish at 4 per cent for the full year, however, as the bad weather over the summer and strong raw material cost inflation in the final quarter hit the division's profits.
Operating profit slipped 7 per cent to €64.4 million, with the second half of the year contributing a 16 per cent decline.
However, the company was confident that there would be recovery seen in 2008 as a result of price changes and planned commercial initiatives.
