Former Late Late Show host Gay Byrne is returning to TV screens to host a light entertainment show on Saturday nights.
The one-hour programme will be aired after the Nine O'Clock News and will feature a live orchestra and guests. It will replace Saturday Live, the chat show which featured guest presenters such as Dana and Dave Fanning.
Since he left RTE, Gay Byrne has returned to present a comedy series, Make `Em Laugh, as well as the recent People In Need fundraising event.
He has also said that he would be interested in presenting the Irish version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? The Irish rights for the programme have been bought by Tyrone Productions - the company owned by John McColgan and Moya Doherty.
