Gardai have seized cannabis, cocaine and heroin with an estimated value of €500,000 in separate operations in Dublin and Meath tonight.

Gardaí from the North Central drugs unit attached to Store Street in Dublin carried out a search of a car at Bellewstown Co Meath this evening.

"During the course of this search 3kg of cocaine (subject to analysis) was discovered," a Garda statement said.

A 52-year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Store Street Garda station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

In a follow up search at a premises on Oxmantown Road, Dublin 7, 10kg of cannabis (subject to analysis) was recovered, the Garda said.

The total amount of drugs seized during the operation has a potential street value of €300,000.

Separately, gardai at Ballyfermot, Dublin seized heroin with an estimated street value of €200,000 tonight.

A statement said a kilo of heroin was found by detectives during a search on a premises in the Cloverhill area.  The search was part of an ongoing operation targeting drug dealing.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested and is being held at Ballyfermot Garda station under Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act.
