Gardai in Limerick have appealed to the public to come forward with any information they might have which would help with a murder investigation begun after a man was found dead in the city last night.
The body of 22-year-old Seamus O'Toole, from Emly Rd, Hospital, in Co Limerick was found with multiple stab wounds in a doorway in the Catherine's Place area of the city centre at around midnight.
It is understood the man was staying with relatives in the city centre.
The scene has been sealed off and is being examined by a Garda forensic team. The deputy state pathologist, Dr Maire Cassidy, is expected to carry out a post mortem later this evening.
