A murder inquiry was under way in Limerick yesterday following the fatal shooting of the mother of a nine-month-old child early on Saturday morning. Gardai are seeking a fair-haired man with a moustache in his 20s who fled a city-centre nightclub after the shooting.
Ms Georgina O'Don nell (21), St Brigid's Avenue, St Mary's Park, was shot in the face as she tried to shield the intended victim.The shooting took place at 2 a.m. in the Henry Cecil Nightclub. She was on a life support machine in Limerick Regional Hospital until her death on Sunday at 6.30 p.m.
