Gardaí investigating a shooting incident in Dublin yesterday in which two men were injured have appealed to the public for assistance.

The men were treated in hospital after a shot was fired at them from a shotgun as they stood in the doorway of a house in North Circular Road at about 2am.

One of the men suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body. The second man, who is not believed to have been hit by the shot, received a head injury while evading the attack. Neither man is said to be in a life-threatening condition.

Detectives from Fitzgibbon Street arrived on the scene in a patrol car and chased the suspected attackers on foot.
