Gardai name car accident victim

Gardai last night named a man who was killed by a car in Dublin at about 1.30 a.m. yesterday on the Naas Road

Gardai last night named a man who was killed by a car in Dublin at about 1.30 a.m. yesterday on the Naas Road. He was named as Robert Donoghue (21) from Le Fanu Drive in Ballyfermot. The accident happened at the junction with the Longmile road as he was crossing the street.

In Leitrim two men died after a car being driven by one of them hit a tree at Killargue, Drumkeerin. The driver was named as David Guilfoyle (38), from Drumkeerin. His passenger William Evans (19) from Dromahair in Leitrim died in hospital.

Meanwhile, in Dublin, four adults and three children were admitted to hospital after an accident on Davitt Road, Inchicore. The adults were taken to St James's Hospital. One man in his 60s was seriously injured but a hospital spokeswoman said he was not critical. His wife was comfortable and two women aged 19 and 20 had minor injuries. A spokeswoman for Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin said the three young children had been admitted for observation and were comfortable.
