A Garda injured when his patrol car was struck by an out-of-control vehicle in Dublin early this morning will have surgery at the Mater Hospital today.
A vehicle with two young males being pursued by gardaí lost control, mounted a pavement and crashed into the patrol car, a Garda spokesman said.
One of the two gardaí fractured an arm and was taken to hospital. The other garda was said not to be seriously injured.
Two men are being held at Clontarf Garda Station.
