NUI GALWAY scientists, engineers, information technologists and clinicians aim to attract new biomedical industry partnerships at an industry “showcase” in Galway next week.

The university’s national centre for biomedical engineering science is hosting the event on March 24th, which will outline new R D opportunities, technology development and testing services.

Galway is home to the largest medical device cluster in Europe, according to the university, which describes its centre as Ireland’s “premier biomedical science and engineering research centre”.

Its research programme is focused on finding new treatments for medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, orthopaedics, infectious disease and cancer.
