Slough - One of Britain's best loved comedians Ernie Wise (73) was remembered with both laughter and tears yesterday as hundreds of mourners gathered for his funeral service.
The comedian Rolf Harris and TV personalities Angela Rippon and Frank Bough were among those who attended the service at Slough Crematorium, Berkshire. The entertainer, whose comedy partnership with Eric Morecambe delighted millions of people for decades, died nine days ago after losing his battle for health following a major heart operation.
His wife Doreen said afterwards: "I thought it was a rather nice service, there was both laughter and tears.
