Crinnaghtaun Pure Irish Apple Juice (many Tesco/Quinnsworths Dublin and Cork, many Munster independents and some health food shops, 75 cl £1.99).
A kilo of apples grown in the Keane family orchards in Waterford goes into every bottle of this tangy juice - mostly Bramleys, which make it ultra-refreshing, while dessert apples soften any harsh edges. Seek it out.
Pampryl Premium-Squeezed Pink Grapefruit Juice (Superquinn, Roches Stores, some Tesco/Quinnsworths, Pettitts, many SuperValus and in dependents, 1 litre £1.99).
It looks so much more ravishing than ordinary grapefruit juice and the extra sweetness in the fruit means it also slips down much more easily. This French variety of pure juice is fresh-tasting and quite addictive.
Bottle Green Elderflower Presse (main Tesco/Quinnsworths, Roches and many health food stores, 75 cl £2.09). Drinks made from fresh elderflowers are on a roll and this is the one that slips down so readily in Eden. Gently sparkling and very aromatic in the floral way you'd expect, but with a nice little pinch of herbs in there, too.
Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice (widely available, 1 litre £2.29) If you can't face squeezing your own, this is the next best thing - better, even, than the juice freshly squeezed in some supermarkets, as it's minus the bitter bits of pith. But then this is America's favourite favourite brand of fresh, pure OJ. If you want something more exotic (and a little sweeter), consider Tropicana Sanguinello, made from blood oranges. It's like being in Italy on holiday.
