The French government's decision to close down a controversial nuclear reactor means there is no justification for the Thorp plant at Sellafield, according to the Green MEP, Ms Patricia McKenna.
The new French government is to close the Superphenix fast breeder reactor near Grenoble. Ms McKenna said the reactor was to be a major customer of Thorp.
