Four held over Dublin man's murder

Dublin gardaí investigating the murder of a man (21) whose body was found by the Grand Canal have arrested four people.

Dublin gardaí investigating the murder of a man (21) whose body was found by the Grand Canal have arrested four people.

Two juvenile and two adults are being questioned in Kilmainham, Kevin Street and Harcourt Terrace Garda stations over the death of Darren Guerrine on Feburary 18th last.

It is believed the victim was shot in the back of the head at point blank range.

Mr Guerrine of La Touche Road, Bluebell, Dublin 12, was found on the banks of the Royal Canal at the back of the Jamestown industrial estate, close to his home.

No clear motive for the murder emerged. The dead man had come to the attention of gardaí in the past he was not known for involvement in serious or organised crime.
