A number of form players today confirmed their intention to play in next month’s WGC - American Express Championship at Mount Juliet, Kilkenny.
USPGA Champion Rich Beem, Australian duo Craig Parry and Adam Scott, both of whom won in America and Europe respectively last week, have committed to playing in the event which precedes the Ryder Cup.
Championship Director Peter Adams, said: "We are obviously delighted that so many of the top-ranked players in the world have committed to the event."
"Rich Beem, Craig Parry and Adam Scott are all in wonderful form at the moment and their participation in World Golf Championships - American Express Championship adds further lustre to the event".
The Open champion Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Davis Love III, fifth and seventh in the world, are already pencilled in to play. World number one Tiger Woods is not yet confirmed but the 26-year-old is expected to play.
The top 50 players in the world on Monday, September 9th, 2002 automatically qualify for the event. They will be joined by leading money winners from the six Tours that make up the International Federation of PGA Tours.
