Tomorrow sees the start of a crucial week for the Republic's soccer team as it tries to keep its Euro 2004 qualifying campaign on track against Albania in Landsdowne Road.

The game is completely sold out, and expect to see lots of jolly green clad types around the city tomorrow night if the result is favourable. Either way the traffic near the stadium will be chaotic tomorrow afternoon and evening.

If football just ain't your bag you could instead vent your fury as veteran guitar noise merchants Sepultura and Therapy? play Dublin this evening and tomorrow. What price either macho combo running into righteous female rocker Ani Di Franco who plays Vicar Street tomorrow? Sparks could fly!

It's a busy weekend for the GAA too, with the pick of the games being the Clare/ Cork Munster hurling clash on Sunday in Thurles and Sligo versus Mayo, who meet in the football championship who play in Castlebar. And If tomorrow's hurling reply between Limerick and Waterford in Thurles has a fraction of the drama the drawn game served up, it shouldn't be missed.

In Cork, Anderson's Quay has re-opened to traffic after road works but there are still lots of delays in and around Cork City. Expect the usual weekend delays in Limerick and Galway. In Dublin, delays at the Red Cow roundabout are beginning to ease after accidents there earlier in the day.

If you're stuck in traffic towards Fairview or Clontarf, however, be careful who you are cursing at. The delays are due to large crowds gathering to see the bones of St Anthony, whose whistle stop tour of Ireland is underway.

At Dublin Airport the Futura Flight due in from Corfu at 16:10 has been cancelled as has the Air Arran flight from Cork at 19:30. The Nordic Airlink flight due in from Lisbon at 21:00 has also been cancelled. A number of other flights due in this evening have been delayed. Buses and ferries are running as scheduled.

Good news from Iarnrod Eireann who have announced their new time tables will cut journey times on their Intercity and DART services. A major re-signalling project on the Galway- Dublin train route means there will be some disruption to Services until June 8th. Until Sunday, all services will involve a bus transfer between Galway and Athlone.

The weather looks unpredictable as ever for the weekend. It'll be generally warm with scattered showers, expected heavier in the South and West of the country. Tomorrow will be quite blustery and should be dry on Sunday.
