New research indicates that as few as 1 per cent of food-poisoning cases are reported. A campaign by the Food Safety Promotion Board, launched yesterday, says knowledge is the best defence against food poisoning.
Mr Martin Higgins, chief executive of the board, said contaminated food that tastes and smells good adds to the confusion.
