A CASE involving five brothers who are facing charges of sexually abusing their sisters was adjourned to September 11th at Dun Laoghaire District Court yesterday. Depositions will be presented at that time.
The brothers have been charged with 61 offences of rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault, against three sisters, between 1981 and 1993. The men are now aged between 21 and 35. All the allegations are believed to relate to the same location.
It is alleged that one sister was raped 14 times by two of her brothers and also indecently assaulted by one of them several times. Another sister is alleged to have been raped by one brother and indecently assaulted by three other brothers on seven separate occasions.
A third sister is alleged to have been raped six times by one brother and indecently assaulted by him seven times. She is alleged to have been indecently assaulted by another on 18 occasions and sexually assaulted by a third brother once.
Four of the brothers were remanded on continuing bail, while a fifth entered a bond on his own surety. Reporting restrictions were applied.
