A fisherman drowned when his boat capsized off the Mayo coast yesterday morning. The body of Mr James Keegan (28), from Doohoma, Ballina, was recovered about 1.5 miles west of Doohoma Head shortly after 11 a.m. following a search by Ballinglass lifeboat and the Finner marine rescue helicopter. He had set out alone to inspect lobster pots at around 9.30 a.m.
