First Active may face strike

SIPTU members at First Active plc have rejected the company's restructuring and severance package

SIPTU members at First Active plc have rejected the company's restructuring and severance package. The union's 600 members in the bank are to be balloted on industrial action.

In a statement Mr John Swift of SIPTU said members were angered that the company "has indicated clearly that if the 175 job cuts that they are seeking are not achieved on a voluntary basis it intends to proceed with mandatory redundancies".
