Four people had a lucky escape today when they were rescued from a fire at their Co Armagh home.

Four people had a lucky escape today when they were rescued from a fire at their Co Armagh home.

A neighbour raised the alarm after spotting the fire in Lismore Street, Crossmaglen, shortly after 4.30am.

Two men in their 20s were helped to safety before firefighters arrived. Officers wearing breathing apparatus then used a ladder to rescue a man and woman from the first floor.

All four were treated for smoke inhalation and one of the men suffered cuts to his arm after climbing through a window.
