Mick McCarthy has named his side for this morning’s World Cup Group E clash with Cameroon and has been denied the services of Fulham’s Steve Finnan due to injury.

Gary Kelly comes into the Republic of Ireland starting line-up on the right side of the defence. Kenny Cunningham is also reported unfit and Gary Breen will start alongside captain Steve Staunton in the heart of the defence.

Ian Harte makes up the rearguard action. Elsewhere, the team is largely as predicted with a fit again Jason McAteer and Kevin Kilbane starting on the either side of midfield.

Damien Duff partners Robbie Keane up-front while Shay Given is in goal.
