Fine Gael leader travels to Belfast for talks

Fine Gael leader Mr Enda Kenny will be in Stormont for talks on the Belfast Agreement today.

Fine Gael leader Mr Enda Kenny will be in Stormont for talks on the Belfast Agreement today.

He is due to meet representatives from all the main parties on this, his second, visit to Northern Ireland since becoming party leader last summer.

Mr Kenny will meet the Northern Ireland Secretary, MrPaul Murphy, Ulster Unionist leader Mr David Trimble and Sinn Féin vice president Mr Pat Doherty.

Mr Kenny had talks with the SDLP leader, Mr Mark Durkan, last night.

He will also hold talks with the Federation of Small Business and Ballymacarett Arts and Cultural Society.

"If the Agreement is to be implemented in full, that requires complex and sensitive discussion involving parties from all sides," Mr Kenny said ahead of today's talks."I hope to improve relations insofar as I can".
