The Cox report says that China:
Stole or acquired top secret design information for the most advanced thermonuclear weapons;
Transferred ballistic missile technology to Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Libya and other countries;
Stole US missile guidance technology;
Has more than 3,000 companies in the US, some with links to Chinese military intelligence.
The report also says:
The espionage has taken place over 20 years and is almost certainly continuing;
The Attorney-General, Ms Janet Reno, refused to allow the FBI to put a wire-tap on a Chinese-American scientist who has since been dismissed for alleged spying but not charged;
President Clinton was briefed about leaks by his National Security Adviser, Sandy Berger, in 1997;
The White House received the damaging report last January;
About one-third of the 700-page report has been withheld for security reasons.
