An internal ad-hoc audit committee is to be set up to examine the state of FIFA's finances, FIFA general secretary Michel Zen-Ruffinen said today.

The committee, which critics of FIFA president Sepp Blatter had called for, will be convened shortly, although its make-up is not yet known.

UEFA president Lennart Johansson, who has demanded an investigation for the last eight months, said afterwards: "I'm satisfied."

Zen-Ruffinen said that 23 members of the 24-man executive were present apart from Isaac Sasso-Sasso of Costa Rica who missed the meeting through illness.

"After a long meeting of more than three hours, the committee decided to set up an internatl ad-hoc audit committee," Zen-Ruffinen added. "The full details will be made known on Saturday."

The state of FIFA's finances have been the subject of speculation since the collapse last year of their long-term marketing partner ISL-ISMM.
