Soccer:Rio Ferdinand has appealed against an extra one-match ban imposed by a English FA disciplinary commission.
A hearing is likely to take place before the end of next week after the Manchester United defender's latest appeal.
Ferdinand had the extra match ban imposed for a "frivolous" appeal against the three-game suspension he was given for striking Hull's Craig Fagan, making a total of four games in all he would miss.
The appeal board will have the power to revoke the extra ban, but also to increase it further - if they did so it would mean Ferdinand would miss the Carling Cup final against Aston Villa on Sunday, February 28th.
