Consumers who bought ISDN equipment made by Siemens and marketed by Eircom are advised a batch is faulty and could give users an electric shock, Siemens has said. Between 50 and 100 boxes of the product, marketed by Eircom under the name "ISDN BRA and ISDN hi-speed Plug and Play", could be affected. The fault is in the power lead connection to the ISDN box.

Eircom has started to contact all customers who were supplied with the faulty batch between October 23rd, 2000, and January 22, 2001. No other Eircom ISDN customers are affected.
