Genoa - The family of anti-globalisation activist Carlo Giuliani, shot dead during last month's G8 meeting in Genoa, pleaded with violent groups yesterday not to use his name as a rallying cry.
Mourners gathered in the Piazza Alimonda exactly a month after photographs flashed around the world of Giuliani's blood-stained body lying in the square where he was killed during clashes between protesters and police. His parents and sister quietly acknowledged letters and flowers from supporters but their own typewritten letter, posted on church railings, appealed to "groups which had absolutely nothing to do with Carlo" not to use his name to further their cause.
