The weekend is here again, and although we probably won’t get the great sunshine of last week or be enjoying that extra day off this time, the weather tomorrow looks reasonable.
According to Met Éireann, it will be mainly dry and bright with highest temperatures ranging between 12 and 15°C. Winds will continue light, although there is a risk of showers in the North.
Enjoy the weather while it lasts, for Sunday evening is set to bring rain and wind spreading across the country accompanied by strengthening southeasterly winds. And for all you surfers out there, forget it. Winds may be light and even offshore in some places, but a six-inch wave is still a six-inch wave.
As to travel arrangements, Irish Ferries and Stena Lines are reporting no problems with sailings to France and Britain, and Irish Rail anticipate no major delays but are advising all planning to travel to consult locally before leaving. A new platform has opened at Heuston Station.

Traffic hotspots to look out for include the approaches to and from Dundrum Village, where the opening of Dundrum Main Street Bypass, originally put back from Tuesday until today, has now been further postponed by at least another week.
Brighton Road in Foxrock is still closed until further notice. Motorists are being advised to take an alternative route via Cornelscourt Hill, Old Bray Rd, Mart Lane and Westminister Rd.
Traffic on the N1 northbound between the Airport Roundabout and Pinnock Hill Roundabout is restricted to one lane until Monday. Delays should be expected.
In Cork, pipelaying works are underway on Courthouse Rd, Fermoy and are expected to last for the next two weeks, although they are not causing any major delays.
