An 11-week-old baby girl was taken to hospital after being caught up in a blast bomb attack on an RUC station in Belfast, last night.

The infant was thought to have been in a passing car when the device exploded at the back of Andersonstown police station, Glen Road, in the west of the city.

She was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment but following an examination was reported to be not seriously injured.RUC Supt Maggie Hunter said those responsible for the attack must be "absolutely condemned".

She added: "It happened on a busy road on a Friday evening where not only were the lives of police officers at risk, but the lives of people who were driving along the road."
