Eight people arrested over the attempted murder of a man in Finglas in December remain in custody tonight.
Glen McGrath (40) was shot while standing outside An Cappagh Nua pub on Barry Road in Finglas on December 30th.
Gardaí carried out a series of early morning raids at number of properties in Bray, Co Wicklow this morning and arrested three women aged 26, 29 and 31, and five men aged 26 to 46.
Officers also searched grounds near St Gerard’s School at Thornhill Road in Bray and found an AK47 machinegun.
Gardaí say the eight people arrested are being questioned at Bray, Dún Laoghaire, Blanchardstown, Finglas and Cabra Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
The arrests are being connected to the shooting of a woman in a house in Bray last night in what gardaí believe is a case of mistaken identity. The woman was shot in the hip at her house in the Greenpark Road in Bray at about 7.30pm yesterday evening.
The woman, who is in her late 40s, was hit by a shot that was fired through a window of the house.
She was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin. The scene of the shooting was sealed off for a forensic examination.
