The first of eight travelling seminars entitled Education & Emigration - Britain & the European Union, aimed at young people thinking about studying or careers overseas, was held yesterday in Letterkenny RTC. Today's venue is Cavan's Vocational School. Tomorrow the seminar moves to Athlone's Community College. On Thursday it will be in Waterford's Mount Sion School. Next Monday it moves to the Mercy Convent, Newtownsmith, Galway, on Tuesday to Limerick's Presentation Primary School, Sexton Street, on Wednesday to Cork's Presentation College on the Mardyke and on Thursday to Clonliffe College in Dublin. Sessions start at 7 p.m. each night. Admission costs £2. Bronze Age: A major new exhibition on the Bronze Age aimed at second-level students will run until Saturday, November 29th, at the ENFO space in Andrew Street, Dublin. Organised by the Discovery Programme, there are replicas of tools and weapons, a video, 40 illustrative panels, a computer programme and plenty of printed information. Talks run every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. Admission is free. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
DCU Day: Leaving Cert students, parents and teachers will be welcome at DCU's open day on Saturday, November 15, between 10.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. The day will focus on the university's 25 degree programmes. There will be talks and tours every 45 minutes. The campus restaurants and coffee shop will be open.
